Happy Spring Equinox! How are we all doing?

Personally the last couple of months have felt like hard work, some days it’s been similar to walking through treacle- and I wonder if its ‘sad’, peri-menopause, having cancer or just life! But I’m taking charge of things by embracing a spring cleanse this week- which began with having a coupe of days away to relax and let my body unwind, now I’m bringing in a few more naturopathic techniques, lots of water, herb teas, more green juices and potassium broths- adding the abundance of what nature is providing- some nettles and wild garlic!!  Yum!!

And of course Stephanie and I are launching our new book!! Why Does Mummy Bleed? Yippeee!! so far it’s being really well received by mums from the UK and we’ve even had pre-orders from Australia and the US!!
It’s on Amazon Kindle NOW!! (although I think there’s nothing better than having a real paper book in your hands when youre reading to your children!) And available to order from Steph and me. www.moontimes.co.uk
For those of you who placed a pre-order, they will be posted out in the next few days!
I just love this little video Steph made for our promotion…have you seen it?

Products

I’m focusing on pads, pads, pads this week!! We’ve got so many patterns to suit everyone, plus the ‘make your own sets’, why not take a browse and see what’s in store? There’s even a load in the Sale section!

On The Blog
I thought I’d flag up 2 posts- one is the Frequently Asked Questions post, here I try to answer all your pad related questions! The second one is the environmental post about the impact of disposables- info gathered from the Women’s Environmental Network and other sources. Did you know these stats? In the UK alone, we buy more than 3 billion items of menstrual products every year, spending £349 million in 2010 on sanitary and ‘feminine hygiene’ products.
What’s more, disposable panty liners used between periods are increasing the size of the market, with sales of £56 million in 2010.
Meanwhile, feminine hygiene wipes have seen the biggest growth, with sales of £4.8m in 2010.
An average woman throws away an astonishing 125 to 150kg of tampons, pads and applicators in her lifetime.
