How to Use Soap Nuts:
• For a HOT wash place 1 or 2 Nuts in the small cotton laundry bag and add to washing machine with laundry and wash as usual. (the heat will release all of the natural saponin- soap- on higher temperatures- so these Nuts are now fully used and must be composted!)
• For a 30-40° wash- place 3-5 Nuts in the small cotton laundry bag and add to washing machine with laundry and wash as usual. (Lower wash temperatures slow the release of the natural saponin so these Nuts can be reused 3-4 times!)
• After washing place the bag in a small jar with a little water- essential oils can be added to give clothes a scent.
• Next time you wash add the bag and water- if you wash less frequently than weekly we recommend letting your Soap Nuts dry out until their next use.
• Soap Nuts can be used up to 3 or 4 times. Soap Nuts will release more soap the first time they’re used (and at higher temperatures), so it is advisable to wash heavily soiled items with a fresh batch of nuts.
• You can boil up a batch of nuts to make liquid soap for hand washing
• When fully used up Soap nuts can be composted

Store your soap nuts in a dry place; they may become sticky when damp, though this does not effect their performance.
